    Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition and difficult conditions in the Surrey Cross-Country Championships at Lloyd Park on Saturday. Their senior women did well to finish ninth in the team event.     James Rhodes, from Striders of Croydon, ran well in the RunThrough Chase The Moon 10-kilometre road race at Battersea. He placed 15th out of 218 finishers, recording 35 minutes 11.
