Week ending 18th October
Striders of Croydon had an impressive total of 132 finishers in the various weekly parkruns on Saturday morning. Robert Lines ran well to place second out of 253 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (19:13), while Phil Coales placed second out of 97 finishers in the Durlston parkrun in Dorset (19:56). Consuelo Kennefick was the second woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 13th overall out of 182 finishers (22:05). Kara Boaks was the third woman to finish the Boston parkrun, placing 22nd overall out of 241 finishers (21:24). Cindy Siu was the fourth woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 56th overall (25:37).
On Sunday morning, Michel Smaldon completed the Great South Run, starting and finishing in Portsmouth, in 1:11:56. He was followed by Mark Stanford (1:26:44) and Michael Joseph (1:35:38). Mick Turner completed the Cabbage Patch 10-mile road race, starting and finishing in Twickenham, in 1:25:26.
