This Week’s Striders news-17th August 2026

Erik Schrijnemaekers, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place first out of 245 finishers in the Thorney Bay Beach parkrun at Canvey Island on Saturday (19:05). Christopher Finch placed second out of 323 finishers in the Penrhyn parkrun (18:19), while his younger brother Daniel Finch placed second out of 149 finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (18:32). 

Lee Flanagan placed third out of 252 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (19:21). Liam Redmond placed third out of 226 finishers at the Pegwell Bay parkrun in Kent (19:05). Consuelo Kennefick was the third woman to finish the Ballincollig parkrun in Ireland, placing 20th overall out of 327 finishers (21:38). Striders’ fastest time of the day came from Phil Coales, who placed 28th out of 1172 finishers in the Battersea parkrun (17:00). Striders had a total of 133 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

On Sunday morning, Caleb Macenhill placed second out of 111 finishers in the Lloyd junior parkrun (7:53). Zoe Siu was the first female finisher for the fourth successive week, placing third overall in a personal best 7:55.
