Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the Elmbridge 10K on Sunday, which was the final race in this year’s Surrey Road League. They were led by James Rhodes, who placed 37th out of 481 finishers (36:26). Steve Corfield also ran well to place fourth in the M55 age-group and 74th overall (38:24). Erik Schrijnemaekers was 105th (40:02) and Josef Freedman completed the scoring quartet in 161st (43:05). Matthew Bollington was 201st (46:05), Gopinath Radhakrishnan 459th (1:11:30) and Stephen Tyler 480th (1:26:37).

On Saturday morning, Striders had the first two female finishers in the Lloyd parkrun, with Anna Docile placing 28th overall (24:00) and Jennifer Gutteridge 31st (24:08). Consuelo Kennefick was the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing tenth overall out of 175 finishers (22:00). Marc Burrows placed first out of 17 finishers at the Lukens parkrun in Pennsylvania (19:53). Robert Lines placed second out of 230 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (19:06). Phil Coales placed third out of 213 finishers in the Holkham parkrun in Norfolk (18:31), while Greg Kirby placed third in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19:28). Cindy Siu was the third woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 47th overall out of 201 finishers (25:05). Striders had a total of 125 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

Also on Saturday, Lee Roberts completed the RunThrough Battersea Half-Marathon in 2:05:48, placing 554th out of 873 finishers.
