    Matthew Stone, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well in the England Masters Cross-Country Trial race at Derby, which was held in order to select the England team for a match against Ireland in November.     Striders had an excellent turnout of 27 runners in the East Surrey League cross-country races at Lloyd Park on Sunday, which was the first cross-country fixture of the season.
