Go to Maps and Directions

In 2017 local running club, Striders of Croydon, successfully applied for a grant from London Borough of Croydon that in the council’s opinion would improve and highlight Croydon’s parks and open spaces. Included in this application was the plan to set out and mark 3 routes by the use of wayfinder posts with the following objectives;

  • Increase fitness and well-being through running/walking by providing marked routes through Croydon’s Parks/open spaces
  • Increase awareness of Croydon’s Parks/open spaces
  • Show the ‘green’ face of Croydon
  • Provide permanent Cross Country course for local Athletic clubs

Each route would be of a different distance and marked on the posts by a different coloured directional arrow.

  • ‘Yellow’ route of approx. 4K/2.5 miles over Lloyd Park
  • ‘Green’ route, approx. 8K/5miles over Lloyd Park and Addington Hills
  • ‘Red’ route approx. 12K/8 miles consisting of both Lloyd Park and Addington Hills then extended over Littleheath and Croham Hurst before returning to Lloyd Park via Conduit Lane

During the latter stages of 2017 the Wayfinder posts were made and  installed by a team of volunteers led by staff from the Downlands Partnership over both the Lloyd Park and Addington Hill routes with the Croham Hurst section planned to be completed by March 2018.
