Women’s Surrey League

This is the major cross country league in Surrey.

The League comprises two divisions – the first division has fifteen teams.
At the end of each season the top three teams from the first division are promoted and the bottom three are relegated.

Each season has just four races.
Each club can have as many runners as they are able to.
The first five runners finishing the race for each club score points for their club’s ‘A’ team.
The next five runners finishing the race for each club score points for their club’s ‘B’ team etc.
The position of the club’s ‘A’ team dictates whether a club gets promoted or relegated.

The four races are are between 5K and 8K long.
They usually start at noon on a Saturday.

The Women’s Surrey League forms part of Striders internal cross country competition – the Sandilands Cup.
