Tatsuya Okamoto, from Striders of Croydon, ran well against strong opposition in the Battersea Park five-mile road race on Friday evening. He finished in 28 minutes 09 seconds, placing eleventh in the M40 age-group and 83rd overall.
On Saturday morning, Selena Wong was the third woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 23rd overall (24:22). James Burree was fourth in the Delaware and Raritan Canal parkrun in New Jersey (20:41), where Annabel Crouch was the fifth woman to finish (31:43). Striders had a total of 65 finishers in the various weekly parkruns. In the RunThrough five-kilometre road race at Wimbledon on Sunday, Natalie Baynes was second in the W40 age-group and 67th out of 138 total finishers (32:34).
In the South London Open Meeting at Carshalton, Lorraine Hunte placed fourth in her heat of the 60 metres, and was second in the W65 age-group. Her time of 11.06 seconds was less than three-tenths of a second outside the personal best which she set in March 2020.
