Veterans AC five-kilometre road race at Battersea
Steve Corfield, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place first in the M60 age-group, and 15th overall out of 98 finishers, in the Veterans AC five-kilometre road race at Battersea on Tuesday, recording 18 minutes 02. Club colleague Graeme Drysdale was 38th (19:18). In the five-kilometre walk at the same venue, Stephen Allport was sixth (36:22) and David Hoben seventh (38:02).
In the Mile End one-mile track races on Friday, Phil Coales placed eighth in the B race in 4:39.71.
On Saturday morning, Tatsuya Okamoto placed first out of 55 finishers at the Momoi Harappa parkrun in Japan (17:34). James Rhodes placed first out of 55 finishers at the Roma Pineto parkrun in Italy (18:47). Zoe Siu was the first female finisher at the Lloyd parkrun, placing 32nd overall out of 230 finishers (23:24). Her mother Cindy Siu was the second female finisher, placing 44th overall (24:41). Becky Laurence was the second woman to finish the Hanworth parkrun in Hounslow, placing 12th overall (23:03). Daniel Finch was third out of 100 finishers at the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (19:35). Consuelo Kennefick was the third woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 18th overall out of 179 finishers (22:49). Alex Legge was the third woman to finish the Sizewell parkrun in Suffolk, placing 43rd overall out of 135 finishers (25:11). Striders had a total of 114 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
Onn Sunday morning, Yasmin Anderson completed the Swansea University Half-Marathon in 2:04:09.
