Tyler tames wet and windy Tadworth
Tyler O’Callaghan, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place eighth of the 597 finishers in the Tadworth 10-mile race on Sunday, recording 63 minutes 46 seconds in wet and windy conditions. Krzysztof Klidzia also ran well to place fifth in the over-50 category and 23rd overall (67.31), while Matthew Stone was 54th (71.17) and Graeme Drysdale 99th (74.09). For Striders’ women, Isabelle Kita placed 50th in the over-50 category, recording 1 hour 50 minutes 20 seconds.
A day earlier Lee Flanagan was the first runner home in the parkrun at Lloyd Park, covering the very muddy five-kilometre course in 19 minutes 36 seconds. Club colleague Krzysztof Klidzia, in his third parkrun in two days, was fourth overall and first in the over-50 category (20.38), with Simon Ambrosi fifth (21.17). Meanwhile Lucy Finch was the fourth woman to finish at the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 25th overall (25.08). Striders had a total of 51 finishers in the various local parkruns (21 at Lloyd Park and 30 at other venues). The previous day Klidzia had celebrated the New Year by placing second at Lloyd Park (19.31) and then, only an hour later, placing fourth at Roundshaw (19.15). Simon Ambrosi was fourth at Lloyd Park (19.55), where Rachel Lindley was the second woman to finish, placing 13th overall (21.53).
