Taylor leads depleted team at muddy Richmond Park
Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the South of the Thames Cross-Country Championships at Richmond Park on Saturday. Their best performance came from Taylor Huggins who placed 78th of the 205 finishers, covering the 12-kilometre course in 51 minutes 05 seconds. Team manager Chris Morton just made the top 100 by finishing 99th in 53 minutes 18, while David Denton, not at full fitness after a recent trip to Spain, was 198th in 69 minutes 43.
On the same day Krzysztof Klidzia won the Roundshaw Downs parkrun, covering the five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 57 seconds. Damian Macenhill was fourth in the Dulwich parkrun (18.42) while Ernie Hann was fourth in the Lloyd parkrun (20.07) and Simon Ambrosi was seventh in the Bromley parkrun (19.10). Striders had a total of 22 finishers in the various local parkruns.
