• Strong Striders teams at the Will Bolton Memorial cross-country relays

    Striders Of Croydon Chairperson Tony Flowers ran the Richmond Marathon in warm conditions finishing in 5 hours 39 minutes 28 seconds.

    James Rhodes lead the Striders Of Croydon men’s relay teams home in 15 mins 16 secs at the Will Bolton Memorial cross-country relays at Sparrows Den, followed by club colleagues Lee Flanaghan (15:38), Andy Perks (16:25), Jon Dean (16:58), Darren Woods (17:22), Chris Morton (17:41), Bill Beatie (17:50) and Julian Spencer-Wood (18:34).

    Jenny Rowe ran well in 17:47 closely followed by Jodie Gray who was making her club debut and completed the 4km course in 18:18. Other Striders ladies to run were Jessica Polya (20:42), Debra Bourne (20:43), Alex Legge (21:06), Maria Gabriel (22:11), Ruth Pearson (23:51) and Victoria Legge (28:50).

    At the Beckenham Half Marathon Liam Redmond ran well to finish in 6th place in 1 hour 25 minutes 15 seconds. Second Strider home was David Shaw in 1:27:07. Peter Johnson completed the 13.1 mile course in 1:39:32 with Danial Hyde 1:46:56. Alex Legge was fastest of the Striders ladies in 2:00:33 followed by Linda Danial (2:02:37), Samantha Kenyon (2:16:52) and Victoria Legge (2:50:03).

    Tatsuya Okamoto finished the Reigate Half Marathon in 28th overall stopping the clock at 1:23:55. Graeme Drysdale completed the Reigate course in 1:25:35 while Nicole Woods ran 2:02:42.

    Striders had a total of 71 finishers in the various parkruns.
