Peter Johnson, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to win his heat of the Epsom & Ewell Harriers Mile races at Ewell on Thursday evening. He finished in 5 minutes 37.5. In Budapest on Tuesday, club colleague James Rhodes ran 2 minutes 09.26 for 800 metres.
In the Serpentine 5K road race at Hyde Park on Friday, Andrew Aitken ran well to place eighth out of 163 finishers (17:14). Club colleague Steve Corfield was first in the M60 age-group and 28th overall (18:23).
On Saturday morning, Kara Boaks was the first woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 13th overall (22:16). Charlotte Nusca was the second woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 14th overall (22:28). Consuelo Kennefick was the second woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 25th overall (23:00). Cindy Siu was the fourth woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun (24:26), while Selena Wong was the fourth woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun (25:33).
For Striders’ men, Simon Ambrosi was second in the South Norwood parkrun (19:50). There were third places for Matthew Stone in the Lloyd parkrun (20:06) and Andy Perks in the Hoblingwell parkrun (21:15). There were fourth places for Peter Johnson in the Thurrock parkrun (20:33) and Erik Schrijnemaekers in the Lloyd parkrun (20:35). Striders had a total of 90 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
On Sunday morning, Zoe Siu was the second female finisher at the Lloyd junior parkrun, placing seventh overall and completing the two-kilometre course in 10:01.
