Striders weekly race results round-up
Lorraine Hunte, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the Ashby Mile, promoted by Croydon Harriers at Croydon Arena on Tuesday evening. Her time of 7 minutes 42.3 seconds was only four seconds outside the Striders W65 club record which she set in March 2020, and her age-grading of 82.55% was better than all of her younger rivals.
In the Podium five-kilometre road races at Leicester on Saturday, James Rhodes ran very well to place 11th out of 27 in his heat. His time of 16 minutes 40 seconds was only five seconds outside the personal best which he set earlier this year.
On Saturday morning, Jennifer Gutteridge ran very well to be the first woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing tenth overall out of 102 finishers and recording 22 minutes 19 seconds. Robert Lines was second out of 98 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun (20:22), while Marc Burrows was third in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (22:09). Phil Coales was fourth in the Highbury Fields parkrun (18:14), while Sam O’Dongo was fourth in the Bradford parkrun (20:01) and John Punt was fourth in the Plean parkrun in Scotland (21:57). Ellyw Evans was the fourth woman to finish the Beckenham Place parkrun, placing 40th overall (23:53). Selena Wong was the fourth woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 50th overall (25:21). Becky Laurence was the fourth woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 25th overall (26:28). Striders had a total of 78 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
