Striders race 800m to 50 miles!
Debra Bourne, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to be the 12th woman to finish the Chiltern 50-mile race on Saturday. She was second in the women’s over-50 category and 78th overall (out of 209 finishers), recording 9 hours 56 minutes 42 seconds. On the same day James Rhodes competed in the South London Harriers Open Meeting at Coulsdon. He placed sixth in his heat of the 800 metres, recording 2 minutes 11.16 seconds. In the RunThrough five-kilometre road race, held at Battersea Park, Peter Johnson was third in the M55 age-group, placing 99th overall in a personal best 20 minutes 14 seconds.
