• Striders out in numbers for Bromley ‘mobmatch’

    Striders of Croydon produced a good team performance in their ‘mob match’ against Blackheath & Bromley Harriers, held in conjunction with the Bromley parkrun on Saturday. Blackheath won by 1031 points to 922. Striders were led by the improving Ernie Hann, who followed his win in the Lloyd parkrun the previous week by placing fifth out of the 388 finishers, recording a personal best 18 minutes 22 seconds. Justin Macenhill continued his comeback after injury by finishing eighth (18.38), while Richard Lee-Smith ran a well-judged race to place tenth (18.49). Damian Macenhill was 11th (19.08), Sam O’Dongo 13th (19.15), Chris Morton 15th (19.23), Nigel Collins 21st (19.40) and Graeme Drysdale 26th (19.55). Striders’ women were led by Becky Laurence who was the 12th woman to finish (23.03), with Linda Daniel also running well for 18th (23.52). Striders had a total of 31 finishers, twelve of whom placed in the top 40.
