Striders’ Lee and Steve in close battle at Riddlesdown
Krzysztof Klidzia, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place fourth in the over-40 category, and 23rd overall, out of more than 1800 runners in the Tunbridge Wells Half-Marathon on Sunday, recording 81 minutes 21 seconds. Club colleague Paul Finch placed 126th in 89 minutes 57 seconds. Striders’ first woman was Sandie Fay who ran a personal best 1 hour 44 minutes 26 seconds.
On Saturday Lee Flanagan placed second in the Riddlesdown parkrun, recording 17 minutes 31 seconds, with club colleague Steve Winter close behind in third place (17.36). Ernie Hann was third in the parkrun at Lloyd Park, recording exactly 20 minutes, while Gearoid Quigley was eighth (21.48) and Dan Forrester was second in the under-20 category, placing 11th overall (22.41). Striders had a total of 30 finishers in the various local parkruns.
