Stirders first three finishers at Lloyd parkrun’s 400th outing
Striders of Croydon had the first three finishers at the 400th Lloyd parkrun, which took place on Easter Saturday. They were led by Simone Luciani who completed the muddy five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 35 seconds. Alastair Falconer was second (18:43) and Simon Ambrosi third (20:19). Lee Flanagan was second in the South Norwood parkrun (18:44), while Iain Harrison was third in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19:05) and Sophia Sachedina was the third woman to finish the Wyre Forest parkrun, placing 29th overall (24:19). Striders had a total of 76 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (26 at Lloyd Park and 50 at other venues).
Striders had two of the first six finishers in the March Hare 10-kilometre road race at Woldingham. Tom Lawson was second (37:20) with Andy Perks sixth (40:14). In the Kingston Half-Marathon, Michelle O’Mahony was the 24th woman to finish, recording 1 hour 42 minutes 10. Her club colleague Louise Grech ran 1.51:29.
This Sunday (8th) Striders will be hosting the eighth annual Croydon Half-Marathon, starting and finishing at Sandilands.
