Steph Upton first woman at Riddlesdown Parkrun
Steph Upton, from Striders of Croydon, had a very good run to be the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun on Saturday. She placed 14th overall, covering the five-kilometre course in 22 minutes 36 seconds. Club colleague Kara Boaks was the second woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 26th overall (23:55). For Striders’ men, Krzysztof Klidzia placed second in the Roundshaw parkrun (18:42), while Steve Starvis was third in the South Norwood parkrun (19:37) and Lee Flanagan was fourth in the Lloyd parkrun (19:28). Striders had a total of 57 finishers in the various weekly parkuns.
On the following day, Andrew Aitken was 91st out of 1469 finishers in the Chichester 10-kilometre road race, recording 35 minutes 30 seconds.
This Saturday (9th) Striders will be competing in Surrey Cross-Country League matches. Their men are in Division One, on their home course in Lloyd Park, while their women are in Division Two at Richmond Park.
