• Southern Cross Country London Championships

    Striders faced strong opposition at the Southern Cross Country London Championships, held at Parliament Hill Fields on Saturday. The ladies were led by Selena Wong who placed 171st completing the 6km course in 33:07, Ruth Pearson was 230th (38:27), Maria Gabriel 234th (39:19), Alexander Sujatha 244th (41:11), Jadwiga Brzask-makiela 250th (42:51).

    Striders men were led by James Rhodes who placed 115th completing the 10k course in 45:05, Phil Coales was 165th (47:07), Andy Perks 172nd (47:19), Luke Burden 236th (50:02), Simon Webster 308th (53:25), Jason Gallagher 382nd (58:33), Mick Turner 395th (59:38), Mark Harman 419th (1:06:25).

    Earlier in the day, Consuelo Kennefick was the first female to finish at Riddlesdown parkrun, placing her 16th overall out of 73 finishers (25:53). Lottie Nusca was the second female to finish South Norwood parkrun, placing 11th overall out of 95 finishers (23:08).

    Lee Flanagan (20:40) and Steve Corefield (20:55) were the 2nd and 3rd men to finish Lloyd parkrun out of a field of 126 runners. Striders had a total of 69 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

    At the Battersea Park Half Marathon, Ellyw Evans was the 26th female to finish, placing her 238th overall out of 1146 finishers (1:39:52).

    On Sunday, Mark Stanford was the 379th male to finish the Hampton Court Palace 10k out of 1893 finishers (51:37)
