Striders of Croydon dominated the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday morning. Simone Luciani finished well ahead of the rest of the field, covering the undulating five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 17 seconds. He was 44 seconds ahead of the runner-up, club colleague Krzysztof Klidzia. Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish, placing fifth overall in 19 minutes 46 seconds. Meanwhile Phil Coales was fifth in the Dulwich parkrun in exactly 18 minutes, while Martin Filer was fourth in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19.11) with Graeme Drysdale fifth (19.25). Striders had a total of 47 finishers in the various local parkruns (23 at Lloyd Park and 24 at other venues).
Striders’ most prolific marathon runner, Nick Kyritsis, was second in the over-60 category at the Chelmsford Marathon, recording 3 hours 40 minutes 51 seconds.
