Phil Coales fastest Strider at Reigate Relays
Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the Priory Relays at Reigate on Saturday. Their A team finished tenth, with their fastest runner being Phil Coales who ran the first leg in 15 minutes 02. Team manager Krzysztof Klidzia also ran well to record 15 minutes 19 on the second leg. The team was completed by Mike Stewart (17.23) and Matt Stone (17.16). Striders’ B team were 24th, with their fastest runner being Simon Webster (17.04). Their women’s team were 28th, with their fastest runner being Katie Chadd who ran 18 minutes 54.
In the World Masters Cross-Country Championships in Perth (Australia), Striders’ middle-distance coach Alan Dolton finished 33rd in the M55 race (38.02).
Peter Mills ran well to be first man home in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday, covering the undulating five-kilometre course in 17 minutes 17 seconds. Justin Macenhill was the first man home in the Roundshaw parkrun in 18 minutes 36. Striders had a total of 46 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (22 at Lloyd Park and 24 at other venues).
