Striders of Croydon had the first four finishers in the weekly parkrun at Lloyd Park on Saturday. In very muddy conditions, Peter Mills ran very well to be the first runner home, recording 18 minutes 19 seconds and finishing more than a minute clear of the rest of the field. Lee Flanagan was second (19.35) with Matthew Stone third (19.46) and Robert Lines fourth (19.53). On the same day, Tatsuya Okamoto was second in the Riddlesdown parkrun (18.51), while Nikki Javan was the second woman to finish the Northampton parkrun (22.41) and Becky Laurence was the third woman to finish the East Grinstead parkrun (26.35).
On Christmas Day, Phil Coales was third in the Roundshaw parkrun, recording 17 minutes 30 seconds, while Steph Upton was the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 35th overall in 22 minutes 49.
This Sunday (7th) several Striders will be competing in the Surrey Cross-Country Championships, at Denbies Vineyard, Dorking.Peter
