• Niamh Vincent finishes third woman at the RunThrough 10km in Brockwell Park

    Niamh Vincent, from Striders of Croydon, had a very good run to be the third woman to finish the RunThrough 10 kilometre road race in Brockwell Park on Wednesday. She placed 22nd overall out of 301 finishers, and recorded a new personal best of 43 minutes 03 seconds, which lifts her to 17th place in Striders’ all-time women’s rankings. Club colleague Lottie Nusca was the fifth woman to finish, placing 39th overall in 44 minutes 53.

    On Saturday, Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing eighth overall in 19 minutes 20 seconds, while Serena Stracey was the first woman to finish the Littlehampton parkrun, placing 14th overall (21:53). Andrea Jeffries was the second woman to finish the Treviso parkrun in Italy, placing tenth overall (26:27), while Catherine Jarvis was the third woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 57th overall (25:55). For Striders’ men, Lee Flanagan was second in the Lloyd parkrun (18:30) with Krzysztof Klidzia third (18:37). Samuel Hansen was third in the Alnwick Pastures parkrun (19:52). Striders had a total of 79 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

    On Sunday, Robert Zietz was first in the over-60 age-group at the Eridge Park 10-mile race, placing 76th overall and completing the undulating course in 91 minutes 05 seconds. Striders’ first man home was Andy Perks who placed 27th (81:02), while Martin Filer was 31st (81:35).
