Matthew Stone first over-55 in Lidl Jumbo Olympic Triathalon
Matthew Stone, from Striders of Croydon, did very well to place 12th out of 201 finishers, and first in the over-55 category, in the Lidl Jumbo Olympic Triathlon at Dorney Lake on Saturday. He completed the event in a personal best of 2 hours 22 minutes 16 seconds, running the final 10 kilometres in 40 minutes 14 seconds.
Earlier that day his club colleague Robert Lines was first home at the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, recording 18 minutes 34 seconds. Nikki Javan was the second woman to finish, placing 38th overall (24.24). Serena Stracey was the first woman to finish the Lymington parkrun, placing 11th overall in 21 minutes 51. Simon Ambrosi was second in the inaugural South Norwood parkrun (19.11) with Krzysztof Klidzia third (19.44). Striders had a total of 68 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (21 at Lloyd Park, 21 at South Norwood, and 26 at other venues).
