Ladywell 10000 metres
Andrew Aitken, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place first out of 149 finishers in the South Norwood parkrun on Saturday. His time of 18 minutes 22 seconds saw him finish more than half a minute ahead of the runner-up.
Striders had the first two women to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, with Consuelo Kennefick placing 19th overall (22:34) and Katie Chadd placing 28th overall (23:24). Steve Massey placed second in the Dartford Heath parkrun (21:12). Nikki Javan was the second woman to finish the Watermeadows parkrun in Towcester, placing 26th overall (25:12). Ellyw Evans was the third woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 24th overall (23:33). Cindy Siu was the third woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 60th overall (25:24).
Striders’ fastest time of the day came from James Rhodes, who was seventh out of 160 finishers at the Westpark parkrun in Munich (18:10). Striders had a total of 106 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
In the Ladywell 10000 metres on Sunday afternoon, Striders’ fastest time came from Phil Coales, who placed seventh in his heat in 34 minutes 52.29 seconds. In an earlier heat, Stephen Allport placed third in 43 minutes 02.82.
Striders had the first two finishers in the Lloyd junior parkrun on Sunday. Daniel Finch placed first, completing the two-kilometre course in 7 minutes 57, while his younger brother Thomas Finch placed second (8:38). Zoe Siu was the fifth female finisher, placing 17th overall (9:51). Hazel Siu was 36th (11:30), Anna Macenhill 38th (11:41), Daniel Williams 43rd (12:35) and Jessica Williams 88th (20:49).
