Krzysztof Klidzia second M50 at Paddock Wood HM
Krzysztof Klidzia, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place second in the over-50 category, and 69th overall in a field of more than 2000 runners, in the Paddock Wood Half-Marathon on Sunday. His time of 78 minutes 17 seconds was only 33 seconds outside his own club over-50 record, which he set on the same course two years ago. Club colleague Darren Jackson was 255th (89:36). Nikki Javan was the 23rd woman to finish, placing 438th overall in a personal best of 97 minutes 11, while Sophia Sachedina was 601st in a personal best 1 hour 42 minutes 14.
On the same day, Graeme Drysdale ran very well to place 328th in a large field in the Manchester Marathon, recording a personal best 2 hours 54 minutes 02. Club colleague Steve Harris was 667th in a personal best 2 hours 59 minutes 48. For Striders’ women, Lottie Nusca ran a personal best 3 hours 32 minutes 55, while Maria Gabriel set a club W50 record of 3 hours 49 minutes 39.
On Saturday Rachel Lindley was the seventh woman to finish the South Downs Way 50-mile race, placing 54th overall in 8 hours 36 minutes 21 seconds. Ally Whitlock was the tenth woman to finish, placing 79th overall (8:50:31). Striders also had an impressive total of 69 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
