Krzysztof flies the flag for Striders in Cornwall

Krzysztof Klidzia, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run to finish seventh overall, and second in the over-40 category, in the Falmouth Half-Marathon on Sunday, recording 81 minutes 27 seconds.

Striders’ club secretary Chris Morton placed fifth in the Bromley Veterans open five-mile cross-country race at Sparrows Den, covering the undulating course in 37 minutes 21 seconds. Club colleague Nigel Finch was tenth in 38 minutes 53. In the Thames Meander Marathon, Darren Woods ran a personal best of 3 hours 39 minutes 43 seconds, while Tony Ostrowski ran 3 hours 47 minutes 32.

Josephine Thompson was the first woman finisher at the Riddlesdown parkrun on Saturday. She placed 14th overall, recording a personal best of 20 minutes 27 seconds. Ernie Hann was third in the Lloyd parkrun (18.16), while Allan Phillips was sixth in the Bromley parkrun (18.41). Striders had a total of 51 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (29 at Lloyd Park and 22 at other venues).
