Kent Masters Championships
Steve Corfield, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well in the England Masters Inter-Area Challenge at Corby. He placed third in the M60 400 metres in a club age-group record of 61.10 seconds, and also placed third in the M60 800 metres (2:19.95).
In the Kent Masters Championships at Gillingham, Peter Johnson ran well to win gold in both the M60 1500 metres (5:16.81) and 5000 metres (19:29.49). Steve Starvis won silver in the M50 1500 metres.
In the Podium 5K, at Battersea on Friday, Tatsuya Okamoto placed fifth in the M40 age-group in a personal best of 16:03, moving him to equal third in the club’s all-time road rankings.
In the Veterans AC 10000 metre championship, at Battersea on Wednesday, Peter Johnson placed third in the M60 age-group (41:00.25).
On Saturday morning, Phil Coales ran well to place first out of 404 finishers in the Brockwell parkrun (17:08). Nathan Robertshaw was first out of 170 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun (18:31). Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish the Wythenshawe parkrun, placing tenth overall out of 315 finishers (19:57). Niamh Vincent was the first woman to finish the Ardgillan parkrun, placing sixth overall out of 71 finishers (22:55), while Charlotte Nusca was the second woman to finish, placing 14th overall (24:14). Andrew Aitken was second out of 693 finishers in the Bromley parkrun (17:23). Lee Flanagan was second out of 207 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (19:11), while Cindy Siu was the second woman to finish, placing 47th overall (24:52). Kara Boaks was the second woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 18th overall out of 188 finishers (22:18). Striders had an impressive total of 107 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
