Jemma Zakariyyau, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the Amsterdam Mizuno Half-Marathon. She was the 31st woman to finish, placing 402nd overall in a field of more than 15,000 runners. Her time of 89 minutes 01 seconds places her sixth in Striders’ all-time women’s half-marathon rankings. Club colleague Niamh Vincent was the 128th woman to finish, recording 96 minutes 55 seconds. In the Abingdon Marathon, Graeme Drysdale ran 3 hours 3 minutes 37 seconds, placing 152nd out of 744 finishers.
On Saturday, Phil Coales ran very well to place first out of 312 finishers in the Highbury Fields parkrun, completing the five-kilometre course in 17 minutes 24 seconds. Jemma Zakariyyau was the second woman to finish the Dulwich parkrun, placing 37th overall (20:04). Becky Laurence was the second woman to finish the Crystal Palace parkrun, placing 47th overall in 22 minutes 16, just one second ahead of club colleague Joanne Campbell. Striders had a total of 70 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (21 at Lloyd Park and 49 at other venues).
