James Bennett, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place third out of 375 runners in the High Elms 10-kilometre race on Sunday. He covered the undulating course in 37 minutes 50 seconds. Club colleague Iain Harrison was eighth (40.53).
On the previous day, Dan Jewell was first home at the Riddlesdown parkrun, covering the five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 44 seconds. Nikki Javan was the first woman to finish the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, placing 50th overall (24.34), while Zoe Williams was not far behind her in 54th place (24.54). Simon Ambrosi was third in the Roundshaw parkrun (18.36). Striders had an impressive total of 66 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (33 at Lloyd Park and 33 at other venues).
