Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the second Surrey Cross-Country League Division Two match of the season, at Wimbledon Common on Saturday. They finishes eighth of the nine clubs in the match, and slipped to seventh place in the overall Division Two table. Striders were again led by Iain Harrison who ran well to place 14th of the 155 finishers, covering the muddy five-mile course in 29 minutes 17 seconds. There were also good runs from Lee Flanagan in 28th (30.10) and Matt Smith in 35th (30.32). Taylor Huggins was 64th (32.11). Justin Macenhill 69th (32.22), Simon Ambrosi 82nd (33.01), Andy Marlow 88th (33.15) and Barry White 89th (33.17). Team manager Chris Morton was 90th (33.19) and Mick Turner completed the scoring team in 104th (34.09).
Meanwhile Steph Upton was the fourth woman to finish at the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, placing 16th overall in 23 minutes 01.
