• Graeme Drysdale leads Striders at Sutton 10k

    Striders of Croydon produced some good performances in the Sutton 10-kilometre road race on Sunday. They were led by Graeme Drysdale who ran well to place 65th out of the 458 finishers in 39 minutes 17 seconds. Andy Perks was next home in 79th (40.01), with Mick Turner completing the scoring trio in 85th (40.11). They were followed by Steve Massey (40.37), Darren Woods (41.23) and John O’Mahony (41.40).
     
    Striders’ women were led by Serena Stracey who was the 18th woman to finish, recording 43 minutes 14 seconds. Michelle Clarke was 42nd (46.54) and Selena Wong completed the scoring trio in 58th (49.24). They were followed by Linda Daniel (51.52) and Susanna Lutman (54.53). Striders’ oldest competitor, 70-year-old Andy Elliott, ran well to record 55 minutes 09 seconds.
     
    On the previous day, Alastair Falconer was the first man home at the Riddlesdown parkrun (17.20), while Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish the parkrun in Lloyd Park, placing 19th overall (21.31). Striders had an impressive total of 77 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (40 at Lloyd Park and 37 at other venues).
