Ernie and Krzysztof win locally for Striders

Striders of Croydon had the first two finishers in the weekly parkrun at Lloyd Park on Saturday morning. Ernie Hann was a clear winner, covering the frozen and badly rutted five-kilometre course in 19 minutes 15 seconds. Club colleague Lee Flanagan was second in 19 minutes 51. Veteran Matt Stone was fourth overall and first in the over-50 category, recording 20 minutes 45. Striders also had two of the first three women finishers. Selena Wong was the second woman to finish, placing 47th overall in 25 minutes 19, with Zoe Williams 55th in 26 minutes 09.

Meanwhile Krzysztof Klidzia won the Roundshaw parkrun in 18 minutes 17 seconds, just one second ahead of team-mate Phil Coales. Josephine Thompson was the first woman at the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 11th overall in 21 minutes 28. Striders had a total of 54 finishers at the various weekly parkruns (30 at Lloyd Park and 24 at other venues).
