10km PB for James Rhodes
James Rhodes, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place 23rd out of 136 finishers in the Sri Chinmoy 10-kilometre road race at Battersea Park on Saturday morning. He recorded a personal best of 34 minutes 38 seconds, lifting him to 20th place in Striders’ all-time club rankings. Club colleague Darren Woods was 77th (42:29), while Kerim Suruliz was 81st (43:09), Chris Morton 88th (44:47) and Ellyw Evans 89th (45:00).
On the same morning, Jennifer Gutteridge ran very well to be the first woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 17th overall (22:04). Selena Wong was the second woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 32nd overall (24:17). Martin Filer was second out of 129 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19:26) with Sebastian Munday fourth (19:51). Steve Corfield was third in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (20:04), while Emily Dean was the fourth woman to finish the Homewood parkrun in Ottershaw, placing 45th overall (27:07). Striders had a total of 71 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
