Striders 5th July 2026 update
Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the Ranelagh Harriers Sunset Sprint 3K road
race at Petersham on Friday evening, which was the seventh race in this year’s Surrey Road
League. Phil Coales ran well to place 36th out of the 239 finishers (9:52), while club
colleague Erik Schrijnemaekers placed 100th (11:12).
In the Serpent Trail 50K, from Petworth to Petersfield on Saturday, Stephen Harris ran well
to place first in the M50 age-group and sixth overall out of 446 finishers (4:46:29).
Earlier on Saturday, Striders had a total of 129 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish the Broadwater parkrun near Godalming,
placing ninth overall out of 392 finishers (20:15). Niamh Vincent was the first woman to finish
the South Norwood parkrun, placing 21st overall out of 249 finishers (21:47). Steve Corfield
was second out of 137 finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (18:44). Alex Legge
was the second woman to finish the Thorney Bay Beach parkrun on Canvey Island, placing
37th overall out of 253 finishers (24:26). Greg Kirby was third out of 243 finishers in the
Lloyd parkrun (20:04). Vanessa Wheeler was the fourth woman to finish the Gibraltar
Botanical Gardens parkrun, placing 23rd overall out of 81 finishers (29:41).
In the Race for Life 10K at Lloyd Park, Dylan Linkson placed fifth out of 93 finishers (49:04).
Anna Docile was the second woman to finish, placing ninth overall (53:13). In the
RunThrough Richmond Half-Marathon, Angela Seesurrun placed second in the W55 age-
group and 239th overall out of 345 finishers (2:17:20).
