• Ljubljana Marathon, in Slovenia

    Martin Harrison, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. He recorded a personal best of 2:52:42, placing him 25th in Striders’ all-time club rankings. In the Yorkshire Marathon, Marc Burrows ran well to finish in 2:58:51, just outside his personal best.

    In the RunThrough Battersea Park Marathon on Saturday, Nikki Javan was the ninth female finisher, placing first in the W45 age-group (3:28:31). Stephen Harris recorded 3:32:36.

    Also on Saturday, Tatsuya Okamoto placed first out of 45 finishers in the Momoi Harappa parkrun in Japan (17:21). Striders had 16 of the 44 finishers in the Europapark parkrun at Klagenfurt in Austria. Andy Perks placed second (19:29), while Alex Legge was the first female finisher, placing eleventh overall (24:14). Closer to home, Niamh Vincent was the second female finisher in the South Norwood parkrun, placing 37th overall out of 227 finishers (22:41). Phil Coales placed third out of 647 finishers in the Fulham Palace parkrun (17:44). Striders had a total of 116 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

    On Wednesday evening, Yasmin Anderson placed second in the W45 age-group, and 157th overall out of 296 finishers, in the RunThrough Chase the Moon 10K in Battersea Park (54:45).

    In the Ljubljana Marathon, in Slovenia on Sunday, Peter Johnson ran 3:24:39, and was followed by James Harrison (4:53:26) and Elsa Santana (5:36:20). In the accompanying half-marathon, Andy Perks ran 1:27:56, and was followed by Darren Woods (1:37:01) and Michael Smaldon (1:45:44). Striders’ women were led by Alex Legge, who ran 1:45:45. She was followed by Grace Champion (1:46:51), Anna O’Sullivan (1:52:55), Yasmin Anderson (1:57:51), Emma-Jane Humphreys (2:01:41), Selena Wong (2:02:49), Linda Jones (2:16:43) and Ruth Pearson (2:21:05).
