• London Marathon 2026

    Striders of Croydon had 16 competitors in the London Marathon on Sunday. They were led by Simone Luciani, who ran 3:14:47. He was closely followed by Niamh Vincent, who ran 3:15:04. Charlotte Nusca ran a personal best 3:21:34, lifting her to thirteenth place in Striders’ all-time women’s rankings. She was followed by Graeme Drysdale (3:21:47), Max Veglio (3:25:55), Vicki Ledgard (3:29:10), Grace Champion (3:38:48), Anna O’Sullivan (3:43:32), Nikki Javan (3:51:31), Paul Cripps (4:26:42), Simon Powell (4:31:32), John O’Neill (4:48:00), Brenhan Heath (4:51:14), Eraclis Adamides (4:54:30), Kate Gray (5:28:26) and Ganesh Swaminathan (5:29:34).

    In the Shakespeare Marathon, starting and finishing at Stratford-upon-Avon, Josef Freedman ran 3:19:49 and was followed by William Furney (3:41:09), Kechong Nguyen (4:17:44) and Deborah Zeffman (4:29:43).

    Also on Sunday, Phil Coales completed the Gifu Half-Marathon, in central Japan, in 1:15:56, less than 90 seconds outside his personal best.

    In the Serpentine 5K, at Hyde Park on Friday, Steve Corfield ran well to place 30th out of 171 finishers (18:26). Liam Redmond was 48th (19:21), Paul Finch 64th (19:58) and Darren Woods 84th (21:02).

    In the RunThrough Chase the Sun 5K, at Battersea on Wednesday, Steve Massey placed first in the M55 age-group and 72nd overall out of 281 finishers (20:35). In the 10K at the same venue, Deanna Blake was the 81st woman to finish, placing 297th overall out of 367 finishers (61:59).

    On Saturday, Striders had a total of 117 finishers in the various weekly parkruns. Phil Coales placed first out of 44 finishers in the Ohno Gokurakuji Koen parkrun, at Ichinomiya in Japan (17:48). Nathan Robertshaw was third out of 184 finishers in the Aberystwyth parkrun (18:11). Anna Docile was the third woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 49th overall out of 286 finishers (24:56).
