• Peter leads Striders at Beckenham

    Striders of Croydon produced an excellent team performance to place fifth in the South of the Thames Cross-Country Championships for the Coleman Cup at Beckenham on Saturday. They were led by Peter Mills who ran very well to place 17th, covering the 12-kilometre course in 40 minutes 06 seconds. Team manager Krzysztof Klidzia also ran well to place second in the over-50 category and 66th overall (43.21), while Justin Macenhill was Striders’ next man home in 73rd (43.51). Andy Perks was 133rd (48.44) with Simon Webster 142nd (49.25), Matt Ostrowski 143rd (49.25), Sam O’Dongo 153rd (30.15), Simon Pannell 162nd (50.28), Mick Turner 173rd (50.51), Chris Morton 200th (52.29), Tony Ostrowski 224th (54.58) and Michael Joseph completing the 12-man team in 269th (60.14).
     
    Earlier in the day Ally Whitlock was the first woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 19th overall (23.35). Striders had a total of 55 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (27 at Lloyd Park and 28 at other venues).
