Keith Simpson, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the Dorney Lake Marathon on Saturday. He placed third in the over-70 category in a new club age-group record of 4 hours 06 minutes 35 seconds, which was more than two minutes faster than the previous club record which he set at Kingston in 2019.
Three Striders competed in the Belgrave Harriers Comeback series of 5000 metre races, held at Battersea Park on Wednesday. Their best performance came from James Rhodes who placed ninth in his heat, recording a personal best of 16 minutes 40.66 seconds. Andrew Aitken was 12th in the same heat, recording 17 minutes 06.60 seconds. Earlier, club colleague Peter Johnson had placed 12th in his heat in a personal best 20 minutes 23.79.
