• Wedding Day 7K

    Phil Coales, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to win his heat of the Dave Clarke Mile at Wimbledon Park on Wednesday, recording 4 minutes 48.38. Club colleague James Rhodes placed eighth in his heat (4:49.75). 

    In the Wedding Day 7K at Bushy Park on Friday evening, Striders were led by Jason Gallagher, who placed 204th out of 648 finishers (29:52). He was followed by Keith Dube (38:51) and Karen Peake (43:55). In the Serpentine 5K earlier in the day, Steve Corfield placed 32nd out of 190 finishers (18:26), with Liam Redmond 43rd (19:10) and Darren Woods 91st (21:35). Alex Legge was the 31st woman to finish, placing 125th overall (23:54).

    On Saturday morning, Tatsuya Okamoto was first out of 47 finishers in the Momoi Harappa parkrun in Japan (17:35). Cindy Siu was the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 27th overall out of 169 finishers (24:17). Martha Taylor was the second woman to finish the Tooting Common parkrun, placing 32nd overall out of 682 finishers (20:10). Niamh Vincent was the second woman to finish the Horsham parkrun, placing 41st overall out of 618 finishers (21:01). Nathan Robertshaw was third out of 198 finishers in the Aberystwyth parkrun (17:55), while Erik Schrijnemaekers was third out of 122 finishers in the Bedfont Lakes parkrun (19:21) and Lee Flanagan was third out of 253 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (19:53). Striders had a total of 130 finishers in the various weekly parkruns. 

    Also on Saturday, Keith Simpson placed second in the M75 age-group in the Kilkee Half-Marathon in Ireland (2:12:48).

    In the RunThrough 10K at Battersea on Wednesday, James Harrison ran 52:55 and was followed by Yasmin Anderson (61:39) and Nicky Thompson (61:43).
