    Graham Hansen, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well in the monthly Serpentine five-kilometre road race, at Hyde Park on Friday. He placed first in the M65 category with a new club age-group record of 20:11, which was more than two minutes faster than the previous record, set by Colin Cotton in 2014. He placed 65th overall out of the 192 finishers. Club colleague Peter Johnson was 84th (20:54), while Alex Legge was 142nd (24:13).

    On Saturday morning, Marc Burrows ran well to place first out of 197 finishers at the Barking parkrun (17:41). Tatsuya Okamoto was second out of 46 finishers in the Momoi Harappa parkrun in Japan (17:40). Steve Corfield was third out of 197 finishers at the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (19:12). Consuelo Kennefick was the third woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 16th overall out of 217 finishers (23:20). Striders had a total of 125 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

    In the RunThrough Chase the Sun 10K at Battersea Park on Wednesday, Yasmin Anderson was the 46th woman to finish, placing fifth in the W45 age-group and 258th overall out of 461 finishers (52:36). For Striders’ men, Darren Woods was 140th (44:38) while Michael Stewart was 188th (48:11).

    On Sunday morning, Zoe Siu was second out of 101 finishers in the Lloyd junior parkrun (8:16).
