Centurion Hundred Hills 50K
Ally Whitlock, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well on Saturday to be the fifth woman to finish the Centurion Hundred Hills 50K race, which started and finished at Stonor in Oxfordshire and included 1352 metres of elevation. She placed 35th overall out of 413 finishers, completing the course in a club W45 record of 4:55:30. Club colleague Keith Simpson also ran well to place first in the M70 age-group (8:59:25).
Earlier on Saturday, Anna Docile was the third woman to finish, placing 29th overall (25:30), while Cindy Siu was the fourth woman to finish, placing 30th overall (25:42). For Striders’ men, Phil Coales was second out of 65 finishers in the Lullingstone parkrun (20:39), while Daniel Finch was fourth out of 140 finishers in the Roundshaw parkrun (19:16). Striders had an impressive total of 121 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
In the Barcelona Marathon on Sunday, Paul Thomas ran well to finish in 2:51:46, while Irene Josa i Cullere ran 4:51:18. In the Kingston Break-Fest 20-mile run, Lottie Nusca ran 2:40:33 while Kate Gray ran 3:07:15. Steve Massey completed the New Forest Hinton Admiral 15K Trail Run in 1:15:50, accompanied by his dog Lucky and placing first in the Canicross category.
