The eighth annual ‘mob match’ between Croydon Harriers and Striders of Croydon took place on Saturday morning, in conjunction with the South Norwood parkrun. Croydon Harriers packed very strongly at the front at the field, and had the first four finishers. Peter Chambers finished well ahead in 16 minutes 24, with Phil Symonds second (17:17).

Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in their penultimate Surrey Cross-Country League matches of the season on Saturday. Their men had to settle for ninth place in their match at Richmond Park. They were led by James Rhodes who ran well to place 49th of the 166 finishers, completing the five-mile course in 30 minutes

Tatsuya Okamoto, from Striders of Croydon, ran well against strong opposition in the Battersea Park five-mile road race on Friday evening. He finished in 28 minutes 09 seconds, placing eleventh in the M40 age-group and 83rd overall. On Saturday morning, Selena Wong was the third woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 23rd overall (24:22).
