Beckenham Relays
Steve Corfield, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place second in the M60 age-group in the British Masters one-mile track championships at Horspath, near Oxford, on Saturday. His time of 5 minutes 20.85 was less than four-tenths of a second outside his own club M60 record.
Striders had 12 complete teams at the Beckenham Relays on Wednesday. Their women’s A team of Kara Boaks (18:01), Anna O’Sullivan (17:55) and Niamh Vincent (17:06) placed eighth. Their men’s A team of Phil Coales (14:09), Conor O’Hara-Barrett (14:28) and Krzysztof Klidzia (15:53) placed ninth. Striders’ other runners were Erik Schrijnemaekers (16:25), Kerim Suruliz (16:52), Nathan Davies (17:09), Josef Freedman (17:13), Peter Johnson (17:26), Sam O’Dongo (17:37), Stephen Kennefick (17:42), Kechong Nguyen (17:51), Darren Woods (18:00), Consuelo Kennefick (18:02), Michael Smaldon (18:10), Leonie Hondeborg (18:30), Nick Beall (19:24), Steve Da Costa (19:34), Mark Harman (19:48), Emma-Jane Humphreys (20:01), Alex Legge (20:22), Phil Richards (20:28), Rick Di Mascio (20:42), Maili Singh (20:48), John O’Neill (20:52), Grace Champion (21:00), Yasmin Anderson (21:54), Matt Byrne (22:01), Sheena Hammond (23:45), Vanessa Wheeler (24:04), Pandie Bronsdon (25:05), Jo Riches (25:36), Nicky Thompson (25:40) and Theresa Staunton (25:46).
On Saturday morning, Consuelo Kennefick was the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 19th overall out of 152 finishers (24:03). Nathan Robertshaw was second out of 238 finishers at the Lloyd parkrun (19:47), where Cindy Siu was the third female finisher (24:46). Selena Wong was the third female finisher at Riddlesdown (25:22). Striders had a total of 121 finishers at the various weekly parkruns.
David Gunaratnam ran well to place second in the M65 age-group, and 123rd overall out of 213 finishers, in the Worcester Marathon (4:34:43). Jay Crawford was 110th in the Chislehurst Half-Marathon (1:51:40).
