The major sporting event of August is coming up – the Striders Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquathon on Thursday 17th at Trinity.
This is a great opportunity to have a go at a triathlon if you have never done one before, but we also welcome more experienced competitors. If you don’t want to swim you can do a Duathlon – Run, Ride, Run or if you haven’t got a bike there will be an Aquathon – Swim, Run all at the same time.
Entry is open now, there is a limit of 30 so let Robin know asap if you want to have a go. The event is open to friends and relatives if there are places available but Striders and regular Amphibian swimmers will be allocated places first.
The format is the same as usual:- A 300 meter swim – up and down each lane of the pool. Transition will be in the car park. The ride is 7.4K the run 3.2K a map of the routes is at
Come along about 6:45 to sort out your stuff in the transition area and for briefing. We will try and set swimmers off from 7:15.
There will be a mass start for Duathletes at 7:30.
The pool will still be open for the usual swim afterwards.
This is a practice event not a race though we will record your times. You do the event at your own risk. There will be some route markers but no marshals. It is up to you to find your way round and watch out for traffic, trams etc.
There will be a £5 charge for use of the pool during this event. No charge for regular Thursday night swimmers .
If anyone would like to help us with recording times or marshalling the Trinity exit and entry it would be much appreciated.
